Today HIP '97 was opened and hundreds of computer hackers are running around this huge camp site hacking, discussing, phreaking and raving.
We are giving you some live impressions from HIP as good as possible.

First day. The opening ceremony was delayed a bit but weather is still great. Let's have a look at the highlights:
There is Bill Gates grave, said to be dying today, Aug. 8. There will be a Macintosh Lovers meetng at the tombstone tomorrow at 16:00h!
In a big tent you will find loads of Jolt colas and many many computers of all shapes and sizes.

In the middle of the campsite is a free space for everybody to meet.
In the circus tent the main discussions are going on. All discussions are on the Internet in RealAudio and probably RealVideo format.
