NAME
ppdddown - a "down" script for ppdd
SYNOPSIS
This scripts allows the user to select which ppdd devices he wants to
have checksummed during the machine halt or reboot sequence. It is mainly
intended for systems using root filesystem encryption.
DESCRIPTION
The script takes exactly one argument, the normal "down" command.
e.g. ppdddown reboot
It will ask the user about each ppdd device it knows about from the
/etc/ppddtab file. The user has the choice of asking for checksums to be
made or not. The script then continues with the "down" process.
The script assumes that the example halt script is in place. If you have
tailored the halt script yourself you may need to edit this script too.
RETURN VALUE
The script never returns.
ERRORS
All ppdd utilities display fairly meaningful errors (mostly on stderr).
In all cases the errors have a unique error number to help locate the
problem in the source code. If an error message is not clear then best
source of explanation at this stage is the source itself.
ENVIRONMENT
The program does not use any environment variables.
FILES
Files (and devices) are specified as arguments.
