NAME
ppdduprev - uprevs ppdd data
SYNOPSIS
This program allows the user to bring data on an existing ppdd device
into line with any format changes between revisions.
DESCRIPTION
The program takes exactly three arguments:
the old revision, the new revision and the file or device name.
e.g. ppdduprev 0.7 0.9 /dev/hda3
Depending on the revision levels it may ask for a pass phrase and it may
also take a long time. Some revision changes are however very quick.
In any case the program should not be interrupted.
Supported levels
If the program is run without any arguments it displays a help message
including the supported revision levels.
Currently 0.7 to 0.8, 0.7 to 0.9 and 0.8 to 0.9 are supported.
RETURN VALUE
The program returns 0 if it worked correctly.
The program returns 1 if anything has gone wrong.
ERRORS
All ppdd utilities display fairly meaningful errors (mostly on stderr).
In all cases the errors have a unique error number to help locate the
problem in the source code. If an error message is not clear then best
source of explanation at this stage is the source itself.
ENVIRONMENT
The program does not use any environment variables.
FILES
Files (and devices) are specified as arguments.
